Pit Road “Big One” Ruins Promising Run at Daytona

Daytona has long been known for the “Big One,” the accident during the restrictor-plate race that takes out several cars.  For Cody Coughlin and others, the “Big One” happened, not only on the track, but coming to pit road during the NextEra Energy 250 Friday at Daytona Int’l Speedway (FL). Coughlin’s result is a 31st place finish for the No. 18 JEGS.com / SpillFix Toyota Tundra out of the Kyle Busch Motorsports stables, but it was a chaotic scene on the lap 42 that ended the night abruptly. NASCAR enacted a new rule this year where a caution is thrown at the end of a 20-minute green flag run.  Most teams were trying to pit just before time expired to set up better track position.
